Soccer Ball Dimensions:
Based on the second law of the game of soccer, the soccer ball is specified to be a ball of spherical shape having a weight of 410-450 grams and a circumference of 68 to 70 centimeters, when it is filled with air in a pressure of 60-110 kPa. The ball essentially needs to be covered in some suitable material such as leather. The weight of the ball essentially requires to be weighed when it is completely dry. Wet balls become heavier when the matches are played in the wet conditions. The standard ball for soccer has to be of a size 5. Smaller sizes do exist in case of the soccer ball but they are hardly used. The size 3 is taken to be a standard team handball. Majority of the current soccer balls are 32 panels stitched. The exterior of these balls are either covered with plastic or leather. The leather used in football is mostly the pigskin. The first soccer ball comprising of 32 panels were first manufactured by the Danish firm Select in the 1950’s. |
