SOCCER DEVELOPMENT
Introduction:
The development of the sport of Soccer can be traced back to a series of events. Presently, the International Soccer Association Board (IFAB) defines the laws of the soccer game. It was in the year 1886 that the IFAB was born. This was subsequent to meetings between the Scottish Soccer Association, the Irish Soccer Association and the Soccer Association of the Wales organized in the city of Manchester. This is considered to be the start of the soccer development. In addition, the oldest soccer competition in the world, which is the FA Cup was found by C.W. Alcock and was contested by the teams from England at the beginning of the year 1872. The first soccer match was established in the year 1872 and was held between England and Scotland in Glasgow. The first soccer league was established in England. Initially, soccer league comprised of 12 clubs from the North of England and the Midlands. Subsequently, the Federation Internationale de Soccer or Football Association (FIFA) was established in the city of Paris in the year 1904. This was followed by the declaration that the laws of the game would be adhered. Currently, the board comprises of one representative from each British Soccer Association and an equal number of representatives from the FIFA.

Thanks to the growth in the popularity of soccer, FIFA representatives got admitted to the International Soccer Association Board in the year 1913. Currently, millions of people watch the soccer matches in stadiums and on the television, in order to look the performance of their favorite fans. In addition, numerous soccer players are also gaining popularity by playing in soccer matches. |
